Barres + Bells: The Basics
Join our Barres and Bells workshop for training ideas and refining tips for body weight and kettlebell skills.
The first session will cover the bodyweight basics necessary to build a strong foundation. The plank and hollow positions of the body along with wrist and shoulder mobility drills will be presented and refined. These basics build the awareness and strength necessary for other Calisthenic skills such as the single leg squat, skin the cat, and chin-up . The skills listed and the requisite building blocks will be presented and explored.
Our studio is located in beautiful downtown Guelph with many great lunch spots and coffee shops. we invite you to explore the town on your short coffee break. There will be coffee and a baked good available at the studio as well.
The second session will cover kettlebell basics such as the various hold positions with the bell, the hinge, swing and the Turkish Get Up. Using the StrongFirst approach to developing the skills of strength, participants will use the kettlebell for training the hard style strength skills.
No experience necessary. Beginners and professionals welcome.
The PULL-UP & the press
Build on your basics and learn the progressions and strategies to improve the pressing and pulling strength in your practice.
Using rings or bars, The first session of the day will help build awareness and strength in order to master the Pull Up. Types of movements to be explored include full body stretching and warm up routines, bodyweight strength exercises light plyometrics, stretches and strength exercises for the hips.

The second section will cover the Over Head Press and Front Squat. Using the StrongFirst approach to developing the skills of strength, participants will use the kettlebell for training the hardstyle strength skills. Prioritizing mobility and emphasizing tension and technique, experience the kettlebell like never before.
